They would probably be more amused by Americans that think they know the place without having actually been there...

As far as Edinburgh goes, I would recomend Mary Kings Close, tis a now underground street where one of the plague outbreaks started in Edinburgh, some of the gruesome past will be revealed should you visit this place, like stories of people having their hands nailed to their knees and being tossed into the loch, that is now Princes Street Gardens, which is a very nice lil place that Edinburgh Castle overlooks.

The Royal Mile is also pretty cool, and it's all right next to eachother basically.
Tis rather cool to be there around August as they have the Edinburgh festival on, lots of street entertainment and such.

$410.33
*message blah blah*

You know you are a doomster when you volunteer for a session at the Samaritans and all the callers kill themselves... including the guy with the wrong number.

HOLY SHIT! That is insane. I know I was talking about Delft Porcelain earlier. I was looking at a custom plate that I wanted. It would be $410.00 for only one plate!

buying porcelain is one thing, getting it in Baltimore in one piece is another...

I only bought a few tiny pieces when I visited. I bought two egg holders and a porcelain wooden shoe (and it even has a windmill decoration painted on it). My parents have them at their house. I looked up the shop where I purchased the items and they will make a custom plate where you can put writing on it. I wanted one with Corprew (our last name) I love the blue and white designs. Our wedding dishes are blue and white. That's one of the reasons I picked the colors. The Delft porcelain designs are so much classier than French Toile

I'm not one for porcelain, it's too fragile and expensive. I have all of Thrash's suggestions in my book now. It sounds awesome.

I don't think I'll have enough time to see all the cool stuff you guys keep telling me about. I'll have to make two trips Oh damn.

I have only made a few porcelain pieces because you need a whole set of clean tools and a clean separate work area. The porcelain clay it too easily contaminated by stoneware clay.
Porcelain is also a weak clay body so making large pieces is difficult.
