Yes, that Genesis. The one that Phil Collins drummed for before turning into a lame pop singer. Anyways, this is one of the truly brilliant prog bands. Anyone who likes Jethro Tull, Yes, or even Dream Theater should give them a listen. It's unfortunate that after Peter Gabriel left they turned into a poppy 80's band similar to Yes with "Owner of a Broken Heart" but what can ya do?

This is my favorite song by them. It's not an album version, but it's the closest I could find. It's a piano/vocal only version.

I only have that album with Home by The Sea and Mama on it. When I found out it was actually Phil Collins, I barfed once, gave the record to my brother and started listening to Peter Gabriel. Peter Gabriel = good. Genesis = leave it. Phil Collins - shoot me if I ever turn that on.

well, genesis has about a dozen albums or so. 6 of them were with peter gabriel. 3 of them are amazing. 1 is alright. 2 are lame. but those 3 are probably the best prog that ever was.

I've always wondered why more metal bands don't cover Genesis. Anyone know of any? Don't tell me about the Disturbed one, 'cause I hated it. They tried too hard to make it sound like the original, and that band is awful, anyway.

One I'd like to hear: Hold On (someone needs to do this nice and creepy-style)

While they aren't that good a band, I just think some songs they did would work well as covers. BTW, the only Peter Gabriel cover I ever heard sucked balls supreme. Coal Chamber did Monkey with Ozzy, that's all I gotta say.

Probably because there is not much guitar work going on. The band's primary instrument seems to be piano and peter's vocals. However, I would LOVE to hear a band do a metal cover of "Dance with the Moonlight Night" or "The Knife".

This song already is awesome. Imagine a good cover. Could be amazing.

it could work, since it's given as a 1st person perspective. but i would say it just sounds like big bombastic rock before rock became big and bombastic.
